There are two types of TEAP test and TEAP CBT test.
TEAP and TEAP CBT are mainly aimed at third-year high school students, and questions are set for the purpose of testing the English proficiency of students preparing for university entrance exams. The test structure is designed appropriately to measure “English proficiency suitable for university education level”, and all the contents create more realistic situations that are likely to be encountered in university life. The level of difficulty is about Eiken pre-2 to pre-1. It is the best level for measuring the English of Japanese third-year high school students.
Both tests are held three times a year, and there is no pass or fail for either.
Test results are given in scores or bands, with a maximum score of 400 points for TEAP and 800 points for TEAP CBT for each of the four criteria (writing, reading, listening, and speaking). In order to accurately measure the overall English proficiency of TEAP users, it consists of four skill categories.
